Albion sweeps rival Medina in N-O track

Albion scored a sweep over host rival Medina this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League track meet.

The Purple Eagles won the boys’ meet 86-54 and the girls’ competition 79-57.

Chris Shabazz was a triple winner in the Long Jump, High Jump and Triple Jump for the Albion boys which also got individual event wins by Ozzie Matos (110 Hurdles), Tony Freeman (400 Hurdles), Cincere Lowe (200), Zach Colacecchi (400), Dominic DiGiulio (Shotput), Cameron Bell (Discus) and Junior Morales (Pole Vault).

Medina’s Dontae Rhim edges out Albion’s Auston Johnson in the 100.

Arian Cayea won both the 800 and 1600 for Medina as Cameron Castanon took the 3200 and Dontae Rhim the 100.

The Albion boys stay unbeaten at 4- while Medina slips 1-2.

Kayla Burgio was a double winner in the 1500 and 3000 for the Albion girls squad which also got wins from Abby Scanlan (100), Alexis Hess (200), S’koi Sanders (400), Alanna Holman (800), and Bri Haines (Pole Vault).

Devin Griffin was a triple winner in the 100 Hurdles, Long Jump and High Jump for Medina as FaithAnn Vanderwalker took the Triple Jump, Ellie Roath the 400 Hurdles, Taty Baity the Shotput and Phallon Rivera the Discus.

The Albion girls regain the .500 mark at 2-2 while Medina is 1-2.

Roy-Hart and Barker split

Barker nipped Roy-Hart 68-67 in the boys’ meet while the Lady Rams gained a split on the day by downing the Lady Raiders 91-47.

Tyler Hillman doubled in the 100 and Long Jump and Dawson Donovan in the 200 and Triple Jump for Barker.

The Roy-Hart boys had Brandon Allen double in the 110 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles and Jay Heideman in the 1600 and 3200.

Nadia White was a triple winner in the 800, Long Jump and Triple Jump for the Roy-Hart girls as Amelia Konscanty doubled in the 100 and 200.

Lydia Samson was a double winner for Barker in the 1500 and High Jump.

The Roy-Hart boys are now 1-2 and Barker 1-3.

The Roy-Hart girls improve to 2-1 while Barker slips to 0-4.

Newfane sweeps Wilson

Newfane scored a sweep over rival Wilson winning the boys’ meet 91-46 and the girls’ competition 108-28.

Jayden Reynolds doubled in the 1600 and 3200 for the Newfane boys while Jared Jaques doubled in the 110 Hurdles and Hgih Jump and Paul Smith tripled in the 100, Long Jump and Triple Jump for Wilson.

The Newfane boys are now 2-1 and Wilson 3-1.

The Newfane girls remained undefeated at 3-0 as Taylor Heschke doubled in the 800 and 1500 and Mel Myers in he High Jump and Triple Jump.

Maddy Seeley doubled in the 100 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles for Wilson which slips to 1-3.

Medina’s Devin Griffin leads the way in the 100 Hurdles followed by Medina’s Ellie Roath and Albion’s Miranda Howell. Roath won the 400 Hurdles.
