Albion sweeps Roy-Hart in track; Medina, Akron split; Newfane sweeps Barker

Albion swept to a doubleheader victory over visiting Roy-Hart in Niagara-Orleans League track competition this afternoon winning the boys’ meet 83-58 and the girls’ competition 84-55.

Nate Moore was a triple winner in the 100 (:11.9), 200 (:24.6) and Long Jump (19-4) to lead the way for Albion as Tre Yaskulski doubled in the 110 Hurdles (:17.3) and Triple Jump (38-11) and Tyler Nashburn in the Shot-put (40-3) and Discus (110-60.

Ozzy Moore doubled for Roy-Hart in the 1600 (5:16) and 3200 (11:6)

Albion improves to 3-1 and Roy-Hart slips to 1-4.

Yasmeen Shabazz was a double winner for the Albion girls in the Long Jump (14-0)  and Shot-put (26-11).

Roy-Hart had a trio of double winners as Kaleigh Kuzma took the 100 Hurdles (:17.2) and 400 Hurdles (1:09.1), Anna Rickard the 1500 (5:36) and 3000 (11:50) and Ellie Todd the 200 (:28.8) and Pole Vault (8-0).

Albion is now 1-3 and Roy-Hart 0-5.

Medina, Akron split
The Medina boys squad improved to 3-1 with a 99-42 victory at Akron as Jalin Cooper was a triple winner in the 100 (:11.2), 200 (:23.2) an High Jump (5-4) and Dan Heil doubled in the 800 (2:22.3) and 1600 (4:42.3).

The Mustangs also had Trent Crews win the 110 Hurdles (:1.3), Trevor Hare the 400 (1:01.9), Connor Miller the 400 Hurdles (1:04.1), Jack Hill the 3200 (12:04.4), Porter Bellan the Pole Vault (9-0) and Hunter Heil the Triple Jump (33-6 3/4).

Marcus Kenline doubled for Akron in the Shot-put (37-6 1/2) and Discus (91-10).

Akron earned a split on the day by winning the girls meet 116-24 to take over sole possession of first place.

Leah Czechowski was a triple winner for Akron in the 100, 200 and Long Jump and Martha Gardner doubled for Medina in the 800 and 1500.

Akron is now 4-0 and Medina 3-1.

Newfane sweeps Barker
Newfane bested Barker 90-51 in the boys meet and 78-63 in the girls competition.

Andrew Boudeman was a triple winner in the 100 (:11.6), Long Jump (19-0) and Triple Jump (39-10) to lead the Newfane boys squad as Sam Aurnhamer doubled in the 1600 (4:46) and 3200 (10:26) and Jacob Licht in the Shot-put (39-6) and Discus (113-9).

Dominic Clementi doubled for Barker in the 200 (:24.0) and 400 (:53.0).

Newfane is now 5-0 and Barker 3-1.

Kim Goerss was a triple winner in the 800 (2:30), 1500 (5:25) and 3000 (12:03.6) to set the pace for the Newfane girls.

Newfane is now 4-1 and Barker 2-2.
