Albion sweeps in youth football; Medina is 1-2

Albion scored a thee game sweep over Oakfield/Elba Saturday in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) competition.

Beginner Division
Albion 24 OAE 13

Jayce Torres led the ground attack for the Albion Eagles with 115 yards and 2TD’s, Camden Holt picked up 93 yards and 2TD’s. Lincoln Voorhes added 39 yards and Harrison Froman 10.

On Defense, Jayden Russo had 5 tackles, Kyle Schomske, Cayden Farrell, Kolton Berry,Voorhes and Holt each added 3. Albion improves to 4-2 on the year.

Mini Division
Albion 18 OAE 0

Heyden Almonte picked up 66 yards and a TD, Matthew Schomske 38 yards, Landyn Galligan 34 yards and Anthony O’Neal 22 yards and a TD for Albion.

The defensive had a big 72 yard fumble return by Almonte. Galligan had 10 tackles and a sack, Brycen Potter 4 tackles and a fumble recovery. Caleb Hughson and Matthew Schomske had 3 a piece.

JV: Division
Albion 20 OAE 0

Jonah Elsenheimer connected with Jack Conn on 2 first half TD’s of 25 and 36 yards to spark the Albion offense. Brayden LaMartina had 32 yards rushing and LJ Simmons added a 10 yard TD.

Chris Almonte had a big day on defense with 9 tackles, a sack and 2 fumble recoveries. Simmons had 4 tackles and Elsenheimer 3 with a fumble recovery. Thailer Seibert a fumble recovery and Stryker Sanders a sack.

Attica took two out of three games from host Medina in NOFA action.

Beginner Division
Medina Ponys 25, Attica 7

The Ponys got a huge day from Remi Avery who had 3 long TD runs of 57 yards, 80 yards and 65 yards. Damareon Shine added an 82 yard TD run and added an extra point run for the final score of 25-7 as the Ponys move to 6-1 on the season and in a good position to move on to the Championship with a win over Newfane this coming week.

Mini Division
Attica 31, Medina Colts 0

Tough day for the Colts as they fell to the Blue Devils 31-0. The Colts got solid carries from Tyler Draper, Javeon Wills, Marcel Lamar and Ja’Keir Taylor. Defensively the Colts were lead by Wills, Liam Skowneski and Kole Jones the few times they were able to get stops.

JV Division
Attica 38, Medina Broncos 0

Broncos left themselves in a tough spot for the playoffs as they will need a big win this coming week at home against Newfane after falling to Attica, 38-0 on their home field. On offense the Colts got good plays from from Caliyah St. Louis and Jude Lacy and also some on defense from Zahkius Chinn and Ryan Frentz.
