Albion sweeps Akron in youth football

Albion scored a four game sweep over Akron in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) action on Saturday.
Beginners
Albion 26 Akron 7
Elian Almonte and Moses Taylor led the Beginner Eagles rushing attack. Almonte finished with 142 yards and 3 touchdowns. Taylor picked up 111 and a score. Conor Murphy and Greyson Roberts each added a PAT.
Albion’s Mini Eagles trio of Camden Holt, Kyle Schomske and Isaiah Hewitt break up an Akron pass attempt.
Almote had 12 tackles on defense. Carter Carithers and Jesus Vellejo had 5 each and Roberts added 4.
Mini
Albion 32 Akron 0
Liam Pearl opened up the scoring for the Mini Eagles with a 4 yard run. He finished the day with 23 yards and a PAT run. Camden Holt led the Eagles ground attack with 110 yards and a td. Jayce Torres 73 yards, Cayden Farrell 21 yards and a score, Jace DiMatteo added a TD run as well.
Holt had a pick 6 to go along with 4 tackles. Kairo Bennett had 7 tackles, Lincoln Voorhees and Harrison Froman 5 each, Pearl 3 and a sack. DiMatteo had a interception.
JV
Albion 38 Akron 0
Jeremiah Hildreth had a big day on both sides of the ball. He picked up 87 yards and a TD rushing and had a pick 6 and 5 tackles on defense.
Heyden Almonte had 80 yards and a TD. Matthew Schomske and Anthony O’Neal both had touchdowns. Ethan Olles connected with Landyn Galligan on a 21 yard td pass.
For the defense, Galligan had 6 tackles, Colton Moreland 5, Brycen Potter and Almonte 5.
Varsity
Albion 47 Akron 6
Hayden Cowley led the offense with 3 touchdowns on the day. Gavin Smith had a 97 yard TD run. Travarias Griffin added a 27 yard score.
Kendrick Russaw had a 48 yard fumble return for a score and a 83 yard puck 6 to go along with 6 tackles. Colin Smith had 4 tackles, Oliver Stoffa 4 tackles and a sack.
