Albion sweeps Akron in youth football

Contributed Photo – Makyell Walker scored a last minute touchdown to earn Albion a JV Division win over Akron Saturday.

Albion scored a triple header victory over visiting Akron Saturday in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) competition winning in the Mini Division 34-0, the JV Division 6-0 and the Varsity Division 38-13.

In the Mini Division game, Roman Manella had 183 yards passing and 3 touchdowns, 2 to Noah Harrison and 1 to Jonah Elsenhemer. Harrison, who had 163 yards receiving, also rushed for 115 yards including a 55 yard TD carry. Jayoanni Ostrander had 62 yards rushing including a 9 yard TD. Garret Jones added an extra point run.

On defense, Jaxon Lynch had 4 tackles and 2 fumble recoveries, Harrison 5 tackles and Mason Snook 3 tackles and a sack.

In the JV Division, Makyell Walker had 82 yards rushing including a 6 yard touchdown run with just 30 seconds remaining to give Albion the narrow win.  Kwame Riley had 33 yards receiving and Peyton Robinson 29 yards on receptions from Nate Gibson.

On defense, Gibson, who sealed the game with an interception, also had a fumble recovery and Wesley Olles had 4 tackles.

In the Varsity Division contest, Sh’kwe Riley had 239 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns. He also threw a 21 yard TD pass to Kaiden Yeargin. Jacob Hughson added a 60 yard TD run and Seth Krenning  an extra point reception from Shakarion Drisdom.

Defensively, Riley had 6 tackles and Yeargin 4.
