Albion sweeps Akron in N-O swim opener
Albion opened the Niagara-Orleans League swim season with a sweep of host Akron Thursday.
The Purple Eagles won the boys’ meet 84-74 and the girls’ competition 92-64.
Finn McCue captured both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly for the Albion boys squad which also had Joel Slack win the 100 Free, Mark Ames the 100 Backstroke and Matt Kania the 100 Breaststroke. McCue and Justin Kania were also both on two winning relays.
The Albion girls had a pair of individual event double winners as Keira Sidari took both the 100 Butterfly and 200 Individual Medley and Mia Olles the 200 Free and 100 Free. Maggie Olles also captured the 50 Free and Willow Gaines the 100 Breaststoke. Sidari, Mia Olles and Gaines were each also on two winning relays.
