ALBION – The Subway in Albion will be donating 20 percent of its sales on June 23 to help Arlen Jenkins and her family.

Arlen is a friend of the Breese family in Lyndonville, which operates the Albion Subway at 162 South Main St. The site will be open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on June 23.

“She is a fun-loving little girl and we feel so sorry for what she is going through,” said Walt Breese.

Arlen needs chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. She and her family will need to travel to a New York City hospital for treatments.

Breese said he wants to help raise money for the family’s travel costs and out-of-pocket expenses.

Besides the sales at the Subway store that day, there will be a Chinese auction and 50/50 raffle.

Arlen is expected to be there for part of the day.

“I can’t believe how happy-go-lucky the young girl is with all she is going through,” Breese said.

There is also a GoFundMe to help support the family.
