ROCHESTER – Albion students in the Interact Club spent part of Thursday volunteering at Foodlink in Rochester, sorting and packing 11,500 pounds of food, which will eventually serve over 9,500 needy families in the western New York region.
The students include Kinzie Healy, Annabella Dusharm, Allisyn McQuay, Sutton Sanders, Luci Borello, Izabella Kingdollar, William Fisher and Skye Austin.
Upon returning to Albion, they visited Faith Smith and the Orleans Koinonia Kitchen in Albion, which receives food items from Foodlink for the OK Kitchen’s weekly dinner for local families. The kitchen is located at Harvest Christian Fellowship at 560 East Ave.
The Orleans Koinonia Kitchen is one of hundreds of community partners Foodlink works alongside to address food insecurity.
