Albion splits with Akron in track

Barker sweeps Medina; Wilson tops Roy-Hart

Albion raced to a 105-36 victory over visiting Akron this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League boys track meet.

Aaron Chen doubled in the 800 (2:20) and 1600 (5:140, Tyler Nashburn in the 110 hurdles (:17.7) and high jump (4-10) and Nate Trembley in the shot-put (41-10) and discus (117-8) to lead the way for Albion.

The Purple Eagles also had Jcob Squicciarini win the 100 (:11.4), Noah Duvall the pole vault (8-0), Cody Osborne the 200 (:24.1), Tommy Mattison the long jump (17-2 1/2) and Manwell Taylor the triple jump (38-9 1/4).

Akron earned a split by taking the girls meet 75-66 as Margo Henley doubled in the 1500 (5:16) and 3000 (11:40).

Chanyce Powell doubled in the long jump (17-1/2) and triple jump (35-11) and Mariah Elsenheimer in the 100 (:12.9) and 200 (:27.3) for Albion.

The Purple Eagles also had Adryan Cheeseboro win the shot-put (94-11 1/2), Aleah Foos the 100 hurdles (:17.0), Karisa Stark the pole vault (7-0) and Mahogany Taylor the high jump (4-6).

Tyler Nashurn heads toward a win in the 110 hurdles for Albion.

The defending champion Barker boys track squad trimmed visiting Medina/Lyndonville 74-67 this afternoon to improve to 2-0 in N-O competition.

Casey Webb doubled in the 110 hurdles (:16.7) and 400 hurdles (1:00.5) and Sergio Cruz in the 1600 (4:53.3) and 3200 (10:33) to lead the way for the Raiders.

Matt Cochrane tripled in the high jump (5-8), triple jump (39-6 1/4) and 400 (:54.1) and Jalin Cooper doubled in the 100 (:11.1) and 200 (:23.4) for Medina/Lyndonville which is now 2-1.

The Barker girls completed the sweep by defeating Medina 88-51 to also go to 2-0.

Gabriella Clare was a triple winer in the 100 hurdles (:17.5), high jump (4-4) and 400 (1:10.3) for the Lady Raiders which also had Caitlyn Mason double in the long jump (15-10 1/2) and triple jump (33-3 3/4) and Kelsi Flegal in the 100 (:12.5) and 200 (:27.0).

Holly Heil doubled in the 400 (1:07.5) and 800 (2:31.1) and Martha Gardner in the 1500 (5:01) and 3000 (11:14) for Medina/Lyndonville which is now 1-2.

Wilson also swept to a pair of wins at Roy-Hart taking the boys meet 81 1/2-59 1/2 and the girls competition 103-36.

Zach Sarratori was a triple winner in the 100 (:11.9), long jump (19-10) and triple jump (38-9 1/2) for the Wilson boys squad which is now 1-1.

Avery Green was a double winner in the 1600 (4:50.1) and 3200 (11:39.3) and John Stoddard wn the 110 hurdles (:17.8) and Jordan Deuel the shot-put (37-8) for Roy-Hart which is now 1-2.

Serina Jaeger tripled in the 100 (:13.8), 200 (:29.3) and long jump (14-7 1/4) for the 2-0 Wilson girls squad which also had Brittany White double in the shot-put (29-8) and discus (91-2 1/2), Victoria Couturier in the 1500 (5:45.7) and 3000 (12:48.6) and Marissa Seider in the 800 (2:48) and triple jump (29-0).

Emma Lindke won the high jump (4-10), Kaleigh Kuzma the 400 hurdles (1:14.4) and Madison Berry the 100 hurdles (:18.9)for Roy-Hart which slips to 0-3.
