Albion splits with Akron in N-O track meet

Albion split with host Akron in a Niagara-Orleans League track meet this afternoon.

Albion won the boys’ meet 116-25 and Akron took the girls’ competition 118-22.

The Albion boys had a trio of individual event double winners as Kwame Riley took the 100 and 200, Cencere Lowe the Long Jump and Triple Jump and Landin Chaffee the 1600 and 3200.

In the girls’ meet, Akron’s Sophia Jones took both the 100 and 200 and Albion’s S’koi Sanders the Long Jump and Triple Jump.

Barker and Newfane also split in the other N-O meet. The Raiders won the boys’ meet 78-62 and Newfane the girls’ 94-42.

Mason Allee Castro was a triple winner for the Barker boys in the 800, 1600 and 3200.

Ben Dickinson was a quadruple winner for Newfane in the 200, 400, Long Jump and High Jump.

In the girls’ meet for Newfane Stephanie Chunco was a triple winner in the 100, 200 and 400 while Anna Chunco doubled in the Long Jump and 400 Hurdles as did Kylie Bowman in the 1500 and 3000.
