Albion spikers top Cheektowaga

Albion romped to a straight set 25-13, 25-7, 25-16 victory over visiting Cheektowaga this evening in a non league volleyball match.

Kelsee Soule had 7 spiking kills, 6 digs and 7 service aces; Chanyce Powell 3 kills and 2 aces; Meghan Hurley 3 kills, 6 digs, 2 aces and 8 assists; Elizabeth Bentley 10 digs and 5 aces; Olivia Neidert 7 assists and 2 aces and Sara Millspaugh 2 kills to lead the way for the Purple Eagles

Host Newfane rallied from a two set deficit to defeat visiting Medina in five sets this evening as Erica Wright had 23 kills, 28 digs and 5 aces; Vicki Harrington 5 kills an Taylor McGee 4 kills.

Nicole Blount had 10 kills, Emily Kams 6 kills and 16 assists, Brittany Schultz 5 kills and Carley Schultz 9 aces and 3 digs for Medina.

Newfane is now 4-1 and Medina 3-2.

CSAT 18-10-13

Amanda Culverwell had 9 service points in a row, including 5 aces, to highlight the offense for Wilson as Emma Okoniewski added 4 kills.

Wilson is now 2-2 and CSAT 0-4.

N-O Golf

Akron (7-3-1) defeated Albion (1-10) 228-280 and Newfane (5-6) downed Roy-Hart (3-8) 245-261 in today’s only N-O golf matches.

Steven Borowczyk took medalist honors for Akron with a 42 and Dyer Benjovski led Albion with a 48.

Aiden Herlan was the medalist for Newfane with a 44 as Conner Duncan added a 46 for the Panthers.

Faye Conley’s 47 was best for Roy-Hart.

The Barker at Medina match was postponed until Thursday and the Wilson vs. CSAT match until Tuesday.
