Albion spikers stay perfect at 9-0

Photo by Cheryl Wertman – ON TARGET: Michaela Lake makes a return for Albion which scored a three set Homecoming victory over CSAT this evening to stay unbeaten at 9-0 in league action.

Maintaining a two match lead, undefeated Albion romped to a 25-12, 25-18, 25-18 Homecoming victory over CSAT this evening to go to 9-0 in Niagara-Orleans League volleyball competitor.

Sara Millspaugh had 11 kills and 3 digs; Kelsee Soule 3 kills, 8 digs and 2 aces; Chanyce Powell 6 kills, 2 aces and 2 blocks, Brooke Wilson 3 kills and Michaela Lake 9 digs and 2 aces to lead Albion’s balanced attack.

Soule served up points 1-5, Meghan Hurley 12-15 and Jasmyn Smith 20-24 for Albion in the opening set.

Emily Joslyn then scored points 17-20 and Powell 20-23 for the Purple Eagles in the second set.

Albion closed out the win with a third set victory as Lake served up points 15-22.

Girls Soccer

Wilson 12, CSAT 0
Emily Patterson and Kayla Newman each scored three goals and Lauren Austin had four assists to lead front-running Wilson (9-0-1) to a 12-0 romp over CSAT (1-9).

Roy-Hart 6, Barker 0
Amber Villella scored three goals, Melissa Zakrzewski two and Emma Lindke one for Roy-Hart (4-6) in the 6-0 victory over Barker (0-10). Alyssa Dodge and Ava Bligh both chipped in with two assists.

Akron 3, Newfane 1
Goals by Paige Buscaglia, Erica Papke and Rielee Welch earned Akron (9-1) a 3-1 victory over Newfane (6-3-1)
