Albion spikers post key win over Wilson

Maintaining a two match lead, undefeated (8-0) Albion bested Wilson (6-3) 25-23, 25-15, 24-26, 24-26, 25-16 this evening in a key Niagara-Orleans League volleyball contest.

Albion jumped out to a two set lead but Wilson rallied with back-to-back overtime 26-24 victories to force a decisive fifth set.

Rebounding, Albion took the fifth set and the match as Jasmyn Smith served up points 2-4, Meghan Hurley 9-12, Kelsee Soule 15-19 and Chanyce Powell 23-24.

Powell also scored points 5-7, Sara Millspaugh 9-11, Brooke Wilson 14-16 and Soule 17-21 in the second set.

Soule had a total of 16 kills, 21 digs and 2 aces on the night as Millspaugh had 15 kills, 7 digs and 2 aces; Powell 12 kills, 5 blocks and 2 aces; Smith 4 kills, 4 aces and 19 assists and Hurley 7 kills, 4 aces and 14 assists.

Allie Bubar had 11 kills and Alyssa Schlosser 33 digs for Wilson.

Roy-Hart 25-25-25, Medina 10-16-18
MIDDLEPORT – Improving to 7-2, Roy-Hart bested Medina (4-5) 25-10, 25-16, 25-18 this evening.

Brianna Lewandowski served up points 13-17 in the opening set, Eliza Schwab 7-10 in the second set and Lewandowski 3-6 and Morgan Jones 9-12 in the third set to highlight the win for the Lady Rams.

Justine Wittcop added five kills for Roy-Hart.

Nicole Blount had 5 kills and Brittany Schultz 3 for Medina as Emily Kams had 9 assists.

Newfane 25-25-25, CSAT 11-13-15
Stehanie Sherwood had 10 kills and 2 blocks and Clare Puff 16 digs to lead Newfane (4-4) past CSAT (0-9) in three stright sets.
