Albion spikers best Roy-Hart

Jumping out to big early leads in each of the first two sets, undefeated (8-0) defending champion Albion went on to defeat visiting Roy-Hart 25-7, 25-10, 25-22 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League volleyball match.

Kelsee Soule served Albion out to a quick 9-0 lead in the opening set, a run which included two spiking kills each by Chanyce Powell and Meghan Hurley and one by Sara Millspaugh.

The Albion lead ballooned to as much as 17-5 before Olivia Neidert served up the final seven points, a run which featured two service aces along with a kill and a block for points by Soule.

Likeswise in the second set Albion roared out to a 20-3 lead as Soule served up points 2-9 and Powell 14-20, a run which included three service aces and a kill by Millspaugh.

Hurley tacked on kills for points 23 and 24 to help close out the set.

Hurley had 6 kills for the match as Powell, Millspaugh and Soule each had three.

Soule also had 3 aces and Neidert 2.

The loss drops Roy-Hart to 2-6.
