Boasting a large group of nine veterans, Albion is prepping for this Friday’s Niagara-Orleans League softball opener at Newfane at 4:45 p.m. weather permitting.
That veteran group is led by senior catcher Cami London, who earned first team N-O All-League honors last year and senior pitcher Alana Irvine, who earned second team All-League honors.
The veteran contingent also includes senior infielders/outfielders Kenzi Snook, Rori Higgins, Julia Knight, Taylor LeFrois, Paige Newton, Alex Sanders and freshman Aubrielle Barry. Snook and Barry both earned All-League Honorable Mention.
“We do have a good group back including our pitcher and catcher which really is a plus,” said Coach Cathy Schmitt.
Albion, which went 6-6 in N-O action last year, also has three non league home games scheduled against Pembroke on March 31, Notre Dame on April 2 and Batavia on April 3 before the Purple Eagles N-O home opener against defending champion Barker on April 4.
