Albion Soccer Club hosts annual indoor tournament

Over 50 area teams took part in the Albion Soccer Club’s annual indoor tournament this past Friday and Saturday.
Players in grades 3 through 12 took part in the tournament which included teams from Warsaw, Palymra-Macedon, Roy-Hart, Keshequa, Byron-Bergen, Chili and several others.
Albion teams did well in the competition winning both the boys 5/6 and boys varsity divisions.
The boys 5/6 team defeated Batavia in the finals.
Key players on the Varsity Division team, which nipped Pembroke 1-0 in the finals, included Devin Gaylord, Jr. Gaytan, Marcos Sanchez, Drake Arnold and Jacob Squicciarini.

The Albion girls 5/6 division team was nipped 1-0 in the finals by Palmyra-Macedon. Abby Scanlon, Claire Squicciarini, Ali Knaak and Nora Hapeman were key players on the Albion team.
The Chili team, which had several Albion players in the lineup including Connor McQuillan, Nate Scanlon and Devin Gaylord, won the Junior High division.
