A special non league win for Albion

Albion High grad Jenn Knaak is the Red Jacket varsity coach.
It was a special non league softball contest as Albion downed visiting Red Jacket 16-4 this afternoon on Senior Day.
In addition to honoring Albion’s two seniors, Emma Foote and Maya Knaak, pre game ceremonies also included the honoring of Red Jacket Coach Jenn Knaak who is an Albion High graduate.
Knaak helped lead Albion to four straight Niagara-Orleans League titles and a sectional championship during her years playing third base and pitcher for the Purple Eagles.
Spearheading the Albion attack, Alana Ivine and Janessa Lindsey both had 3 hits as Kenzi Snook and Cami London each had 2.
In the circle for the Purple Eagles, Irvine registered 8 strikeouts and Maya Knaak 3.
Albion returns to Niagara-Orleans League action by hosting Akron at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.
G-R Softball
In a Genesee Region League contest, Oakfield-Alabama broke away from a tight 3-1 game by erupting for 8 runs in the fifth inning to key a 17-1 victory over Holley.
Leigha Walker had 2 hits and Tia Hoffarth an RBI for Holley.
