Albion scores 3 youth football wins, 1 in OT

Albion scored three victories in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) competition on Saturday downing Oakfield/Elba 38-0 in the Mini Division, 14-6 in overtime in the JV and 48-7 over Akron in the Varsity.

Beginner
OAE 31, Albion 6

Cayden Farrell had 58 yards rushing and the lone touchdown for Albion. Jayce Torres had 33 yards and Dominic Westlund 16 on the ground.

Zion O’Neal led the Albion defense with 6 tackles and Farrell added 3.

Mini
Albion 38, OAE 0

Heyden Almonte led the Eagles rushing attack with 95 yards and a touchdown. Connor Hinckley, Giovanni LaMartina and Landon Farrell all added TD runs. Almonte also connected with LaMartina on a TD pass.

Hinckley led the defense with 4 tackles, Farrell, Almonte, Colton Moreland and Liam Saporito had 3 each. Camden Holt returned a fumble for a TD. Lincoln Voorhes had an interception.

JV
Albion 14, OAE 6 OT

Brayden LaMartina’s touchdown run and PAT conversion pass to Parker Roberts in overtime pushed the Eagles to a 14-6 win. Roberts finished the day with 92 yards rushing and a TD. LaMartina 55 yards rushing.

On defense, Luke Bedford’s second interception on 4th down in overtime sealed the win. Landyn Galligan led the defense with 5 tackles. Oliver Stoffa, Colin Smith, Edwin Dudley and Roberts added 3 each.

Varsity
Albion 48, Akron 7

LJ Simmons had 116 yards receiving to go with a touchdown reception and a 44 yard TD run. Jonah Elsenheimer had a TD run and threw 2 TD passes to Noah Harrison and 1 to Ezra Bloom. Elijah Doxey had a TD run and pass. Chrisjen Winters had a PAT reception.

Harrison and Hayden Cowley had interceptions, Bloom added a sack.
