Albion scores non league win over Midlakes

Building up a 17 point halftime advantage, Albion went on to defeat host Midlakes 56-49 in a non league boys basketball game this evening.

Blake Preston scored 11 and Javon Jones 8 in the first half as the Purple Eagles took a 35-18 lead.

Preston finished with 15 and Jones 11.

Now at 1-4, Albion next visits LeRoy in another non league game on Thursday.

Cleveland Hill 58, Barker 52
Cleveland Hill trimmed host Barker 58-52 in a non league game.

Aidan Mescall scored 18, Brad Cantrell 17 and Aidan Voss 10 for Barker.

Trailing 16-5 after the opening quarter, Barker got back into the game by outscoring Cleve Hill 21-12 in the second period to cut the deficit to two, 28-26, at the half. Mescall scored 11 and Cantrell 6.

Cleve Hill led 46-42 after three quarters.

Barker next hosts Holley on Thursday in another non league contest.

Byron-Bergen 79, Lyndonville 46
Up 28-7 after one quarter and 55-29 at the half, undefeated (7-0) Byron-Bergen went on to down visiting Lyndonville 79-46 in a Genesee Region League game.

Davis Brumsted scored 17 and Broedyn Chambry 14 to lead the way for Byron-Bergen.

Mason Nicholson led Lyndonville with a game high 24 as Ian Mank and Jimmy Poler each had 6.
