Albion scores 5 wins at N-O All-League meet

Albion had a quintet of winners this afternoon during the second day of competition at the annual Niagara-Orleans All-League track meet held at Akron.

The Purple Eagles winners included Tre Yaskulski in the 110 Hurdles (:16.64), Lamar Chambers in the 400 Hurdles (1:00.26) Tyler Nashburn in the Shot-put (39-3 1.4), Preston Flugel in the Pole Vault (12-6) and Chanyce Powell in the Long Jump (17-8).

Jalin Cooper was a double winner for Medina in the 100 (:10.84) and 200 (:22.09) as Martha Gardner added a win in the 1500 (5:03.41).

Roy-Hart’s Kaleigh Kuzma was a double winner in the 100 Hurdles (:16.91) and 400 Hurdles (1:08.07). Cory Bricourt also captured the High Jump (6-0) for the Rams.

Akron’s Leah Czechowski doubled in the 100 (:12.65) and 200 (:26.62).  The Tigers also had Mackenzie O’Brien win the 400 (1:03.64) and Robbie PeQueen the Long Jump (20-3 1/2).

The other individual winners included Newfane’s Reese Casinelli in the 400 (:53.42), Wilson’s Trey Rees in the 1600 (4:36.74) and Shea Munnikhuysen in the Shot-put (32-1 1/2) and Barker’s Dakota Leising in the High Jump (4-10).

In the girls relays, Akron’ captured both the 4×100 in :52.22 with the foursome of Jenna Robnett, Hailey Hall, Czechowski and Kara Sequin and the 4×800 with the quartet of Margo Henley, Madison Jimseron,  O’Brien and Amanda Ciurzynski in 10:29.30.

In the boys relays, Newfane won the 4×100 with the quartet of Andrew Boudeman, Casinelli, James DeBiase and Julian Nixon in :45.38 while Barker took the 4×800 with the foursome of Adam Wagner, Jack Hopkins, Matt Pestinger and Jake Arnold in 8:56.86.

N-O Tennis Doubles Tournament

Wilson defeated Medina in straight sets in the semifinals and Albion in three sets in the title match today at the annual N-O Doubles Tournament at Barker.

Medina’s duo of Mike Cardone and Andrew Fuller place third by downing Barker in three sets in the consolation match.
