Albion, Roy-Hart, Kendall girls post wins

Avenging an earlier season loss, Albion downed host Barker 28-3 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League softball game.

Kendall Derisley had 5 hits, Paige Derisley 4, Brylie Hapeman and Natalie DiCureia 3 and Sierra Newton and Janae Doty 2 to lead the offense for Albion which improves to 2-4. Paige Derisley drove in a total of six runs and Kendall Derisley five.

In the circle, Ella Knaak struck out 4 for the Purple Eagles.

Albion scored 5 quick runs in the first inning and later broke the contest open with 7 in the fourth.

Roy-Hart 22, Newfane 0
Lexie Lovewell hurled a no hitter with 5 strikeouts to lead Roy-Hart past Newfane.

At the plate for the Lady Rams, Jamie Bower had a home run, Kayla Brown and Maddy Glena 4 hits and Lovewell 3.

Kendall 14, Lima Christian 13
Kendall rallied for 3 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Lima Christian 14-13 on RBI singles by Shianna Patten and Sara Mattle and an error. A double by Lizzie Sutphen ignited the rally with a double.

Kierstyn Christensen and Autumn Woodward both had 2 hits for Kendall and Adriana Passarell scored 3 times.

In the circle, Mattle struck out 3 to earn her second varsity win.

Albion’s Ella Knaak, left and Barker’s Jess Coen handled the pitching chores.
