Albion, Roy-Hart/Barker split in key meet
Albion and defending champion Roy-Hart/Barker split in a key Niagara-Orleans League swim meet this evening at Albion.
Albion won the boys’ meet 49-44 to improve to 5-1 and move a half game ahead of Roy-Hart/Barker (4-1).
Finn McCue won the 100 Butterfly, Mason Giattino the 500 Free and Matt Kania the 100 Breaststroke to lead the way for the Purple Eagles.
A big key for the Purple Eagles was a 9-2 edge in second place finishes which offset the Channel Cats 7-4 advantage in first place finishes.
Sean Labiak doubled in the 200 Free and 100 Backstroke and Carson Hashem in the 50 Free and 100 Free for Roy-Hart/Barker which also got a win from Nick Armenia in the 200 Individual Medley.
Roy-Hart/Barker won the girls’ meet 55-39 to remain undefeated at 5-0 as runner-up Albion slips to 4-2.
Julia Miles won both the 50 Free and 100 Free for Roy-Hart/Barker as Madelina Pavlock took the 200 Free, Marisa Trombley the 500 Free and Ava Achtyl the 100 Backstroke.
Kiera Sidari doubled for Albion in the IM and Butterfly as Willow Gaines added a win in the 100 Breaststroke.
