Albion rolls past Alexander in Tri County

Scoring in five different innings, Albion posted an 11-4 victory over host Alexander Thursday to stay perfect at 5-0 in Tri County Babe Ruth League action.

Ryan Krenning, Patrick Ricker and Drew Caldwell each had 2 hits to lead Albion at the plate.

On the mound for Albion, Ricker struck out 9 over the first 4 innings and Thomas Furmanski fanned 8 over the final 3 frames.

Albion jumped out to an early 4-0 lead by scoring 3 times in the first inning, highlighted by a two-run single by Kyle Woolston, and once in the second on an error.

Hits by Krenning, Ricker and Caldwell helped to up the lead to 6-1 in the fourth inning.

Alexander did cut the deficit to 6-4 but could get no closer.

Albion pulled away for good by scoring once in the fifth on a double by Krenning and then 4 times in the sixth on 4 walks, an error and hits by Caldwell and Torin Irvine.

Albion next visits Lyndonville at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
