Albion returns veteran track squads

Large veteran contingents anchor the lineups for both the Albion boys and girls track  teams which begin Niagara-Orleans League competition at home on Wednesday against Wilson.

Seniors Nate Moore, who won the Long Jump at last year’s N-O All-League meet, Tre Yaskulski, who captured the 110 Hurdles, and Kirk Ellison, who won the Shotput, along with juniors Briliance Johnson (2nd in 100), Nick Perry (2nd in Discus) and Sam Sanchez (3rd in 400) head the Purple Eagles key contingent also includes seniors Ugene Harrison and Payton Lake along with juniors Dominic Burton, Chase Carleton, Kevin Hillman, Angel Rosario, sophomore Anthony Freeman and freshman Reuben Rivers.

Anchoring the lineup for the Albion girls squad will be seniors Emma Mathes, Malory Adams and Kirsten Struble along with juniors Sophia Zambito and Ashlyn LeBaron, sophomores Alanna Holman, Claire Squicciarini and Honesty Little and freshman Brie Haines and Abby Scanlan. At the All-League meet, Holman won the 3000 and placed second in the 1500, Haines won the Pole Vault, Holman won the 3000 and placed second in the 1500 and Struble took third in the 400.

The Albion boys went 5-1 in N-O competition last spring and the girls 1-5.
