Wilson upends Roy-Hart

Albion used the combination of 7-2 victory over Newfane with Wilson’s 5-1 win over Roy-Hart this afternoon to regain a share of the Niagara-Orleans League baseball lead.

Albion and Roy-Hart are now deadlocked for first place at 8-2.

Barker downed Akron 11-1 in the other game as the Raiders improve to 6-4.

Albion 7, Newfane 2
Brady Meakin went the distance on the mound for Albion scattering 5 hits and striking out 10.

Albion pulled away by scoring twice in the fifth inning, as Bryce Pritchard had a key RBI single, and then twice in the sixth on a two-run single by Randy Eblacker.

Wilson 5, Roy-Hart 1
John Bender hurled a 5 hitter with 6 strikeouts and Nick Pawlak banged out a three-run double in the fifth inning to key the victory for Wilson.

Barker 11, Akron 1
Eddie Wasnock likewise went the distance on the mound for Barker allowing 5 hits and striking out 8.

Kyle MacDonald, Colln Webb, Jake Meister and Mike Snell each had a pair of hits for the Raiders.

Leading 4-1, Barker put a lock on the win by erupting for seven runs in the sixth inning as McDonald, Snell, Meister, Ryan Voss and Brad Wilson all had RBI hits.
