Albion Raptors win U17 soccer season opener
The Albion Raptors blanked host Bloomfield 5-0 Monday evening to open the Rochester District Youth Soccer League U17 Division season.
Albion jumped out to a 2-0 first half lead o a pair of goals by Abby Scanlan, one coming off an assist from Aly Knaak.
Kendall Derisley, Claire Squicciarini and Kenzi Hapeman then took turns scoring goals in the second half. Brittany Spies-Hunt, Abbie Pappalardo and Scanlan earned assists during that stretch.
Kailey Merrill and Quinn McCue shared in earning the shutout in goal for the Raptors which next face Hilton on Wednesday at the Batavia Sports Park.
