Albion rallies to down LeRoy in overtime

Trailing by 18 early in the final period, Albion came storming back to defeat visiting LeRoy in overtime 66-57 in a non league game this evening.

The Purple Eagles forced the contest into overtime by outscoring the Knights 23-7 in the final period which ended deadlocked at 51-51.

LeRoy sent the game into overtime on a three by Anderew Loftins with five seconds to go.

Kevin Hillman scored 9 to lead that late Albion rally as Deyonce Farley added 5, Chris Shabazz 4, Bailey Blanchard 3 and Liam Ward 2.

Keeping the momentum, the Purple Eagles then outscored the Knights 15-6 in the overtime period to claim the victory.

Blanchard scored 8 to lead that surge as Farley had 4, Hillman 2 and Shabazz 1.

Farley finished with 17, Blanchard 16, Hillman 11, Ward 9, Shabazz 8, Elijah Lloyd 3 and Damion Lattimer 2.

Cody Lytle scored 15 to lead LeRoy which held leads of 14-6 after one period, 32-17 at the half and 44-28 at the three-quarter mark.

Albion, which next hosts Barker Thursday in a Niagara-Orleans League game, is now 11-4 overall.
