Five returnees anchor the lineup for Albion as the Purple Eagles prep to begin defense of their Niagara-Orleans League tennis championship at home on Monday against Barker.

Ending a nearly decade long drought, the Purple Eagles posted a 12-0 record last spring to claim the N-O title for the first time since 2015.

By capturing the championship Albion ended Akron’s five year N-O title reign.

Two victories over Akron, which finished in the runner-up spot at 10-2, keyed Albion’s successful title runs.

Coach Jay Kovaleski’s Purple Eagles are led by the veteran quintet of seniors Leo Bolton and Oliver Beach, juniors Bradyn Whittier and Landon Graybill and sophomore Jillian LeBaron.

Bolton earned first team N-O All-League honors for the third time while Graybill was a second team honoree and Beach an Honorable Mention selection.

The Purple Eagles graduation losses included N-O first team All-League honoree Mark Ames, second team pick Jordan Marshall and Honorable Mention selection Jason Anstey.
