Albion nips Wilson in overtime; Barker downs Medina; Roy-Hart bests Akron

Albion edged past host Wilson 55-52 in overtime this evening to improve to 7-3 in Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball competition.

Blake Preston hit a three and Amari Jones a two in the overtime to earn the Purple Eagles the narrow win.

Preston finished with a game high 17 as Amari Jones and Javon Jones each added 7.

Charles Clemente scored 15, Blake Martin 10 and Matt Fox and Connor Peck 9 each for Wilson which slips to 3-6.

Barker 62, Medina 48
Building up leads of 18-8 after the first quarter, 34-19 at the half 47-34 at the three-quarter mark, Barker went on to down visiting Medina 62-48.

Luey Castro scored a game high 26, Aidan Mescall 16 and Brad Cantrell 11 to lead the way for Barker. Castro scored 10 in the first period and 8 in the third and Cantrell 6 in the first.

Justin Pitts scored 11, Jerrell Nealy 10 and Cayden Lilleby and Roosevelt Mitchell 7 each for Medina.

Barker is now 3-7 and Medina 1-8 in N-O action.

Roy-Hart 60, Akron 55
Defending champion Roy-Hart improved to 6-4 with a 60-55 win over Akron which drops to 4-5.

Jamel Johnson Jr. scored 17, Jayden Swygert 12 and Dan Aquilina 11 to lead the way for Roy-Hart.

Ben Gerstung and Trace Hill each scored 13 and Blake Gerstung 10 for Akron.

Roy-Hart built up leads of 37-24 at the half and 53-35 after three quarters. Johnson scored 7 in both the first and second quarters, Justin Terwilliger hit two threes in the second and Aquilina netted 8 in the third.

Notre Dame 86, Lyndonville 43
Jimmy Fanara scored a game high 36, Jordan Welker 14 and Ryan Fitzpatrick 11 to spark Notre Dame to an 86-43 win over visiting Lyndonville in a Genesee Region League game.

Mason Nicholson scored 21, Ian Mank 8 and Jake Wilson 6 for Lyndonville.

In another G-R game, Pembroke downed Holley 108-32.
