Albion netters post shutout to go to 9-0

Defending champion Albion blanked Newfane 5 1/2-0 this afternoon to stay unbeaten in Niagara-Orleans League tennis competition at 9-0.

In the day’s other match, Akron improved to 7-2 with a 4 1/2-1 victory over Wilson.

Holley 4, Elba 1
Holley improved to 6-2 in Genesee Region League tennis competition with a 4-1 victory over host Elba.

Victories at the first two singles spots by Brady Smith and Pablo Romero sparked Holley to the win.

The Hawks also got wins by the doubles teams of Gabe Mendoza-Melanie Klossner and Derek McArthur-Jake DeSimone.

Golf

Elba 222, Kendall 254
Elba bested Kendall 254-222 in a G-R golf match at Hickory Ridge.

Ben Pflaumer led Elba with a 40 while Kendall’s Evan Gaesser took medalist honors with a 38.
