Albion netters down Barker

Improving to 3-1, Albion bested visiting Barker 4.5-1 this afternoon in a windy Niagara-Orleans League tennis match.

Josh Metzler defeated Tristan Payne 6-2, 6-0 at second singles and Dan Beam outlasted Brian Hefferon 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 at third singles to lead the way for Albion.

Barker’s Sean Benoit took the first singles match with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Dyer Benjovsky.

The Purple Eagles also scored a sweep of the three doubles matches. Kyler McQuillan and Monica Benjovsky defeated Erik Herian and Nick Fazzolari 6-2, 6-0 at first doubles. Cristal Quintana and Michael Stilwell downed Lucy and Patricia Bautista 6-2, 6-1 at second doubles. Dylan Bader and Matt Kovaleski bested Casey A’Hearn and Josh Mace 6-2, 6-0 at third doubles.

The loss drops Barker to 1-2.

The Holley at Pembroke Genesee Region League match was postponed due to the windy conditions.
