Albion mother and son killed in car accident in Elba on Saturday
ELBA – A mother and son from Albion were killed on Route 98 in Elba on Saturday, the State Police are reporting today.
Teresa M. Norton, 53, was driving 2008 Suzuki northbound with her son, Thomas M. Norton, 22. State Police say Norton lost control on the snow-covered roadway at about 1:30 p.m. and slide sideways into the path of a 2011 Chevrolet pickup truck. The Chevrolet struck the passenger side of the Suzuki.
The Nortons were both declared deceased at the collision scene by Karen Lang, Genesee County coroner.
The operator of the Chevrolet, Jeffrey S. Toussaint, 59, of Albion was transported to Erie County Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, Elba Fire Company and NYS DOT assisted in this investigation.
