Albion Mini football squad blanks Pembroke
Albion blanked host Pembroke 12-0 Saturday in a Niagara-Orleans Football Associaion (NOFA) Mini Division game.
Garret Jones led the way for the Albion offense with 2 touchdowns and 112 yards rushing. LJ Simmons added 57 yards rushing and 22 receiving and Boe Preston 54 yards rushing.
On defense. Jonah Elsenheimer had 10 tackles. Rocco Sidari 6, Deake Schomske 5, Hayden Cowley 4 and Tyriek Johnson a fumble recovery.
Pembroke nipped Albion 8-6 in the JV Division game.
Noah Harrison 114 yards rushing and a touchdown and Jayovanni Ostrander 37 yards for Albion.
Defensively, Harrison had 11 tackles, Wesley Olles 10, Ostrander 9 and Logan Kast with 6.
In the Beginners Division contest, Pembroke defeated Albion 32-6.
Jayden Rivera had 70 yards rushing including a 42 yard TD run for Allbion. Matthew Schomske added 41 yards rushing.
On defense, Rivera had 6 tackles, Landyn Galligan 6 and Schomske 3
The Varsity Division game saw Medina defeat Albion 27-7.
Jared Ostrander had 6 tackles and an interception and Johnathan Eibl 4 tackles for Albion.
On offense, Kwame Riley had 73 yards rushing, Xavier Byrd 30 yards and Makyell Walker 14 yards.
