Albion, Medina youth gridders earn two wins

The Albion and Medina youth teams both went 2-1 Saturday in Niagara Orleans Football Association action.

Albion defeated visiting Pembroke 45-27 in the Mini Division and 32-6 in the JV Division but lost 40-6 in the Varsity Division.

Medina downed host Tri-Town 36-0 in the JV Division and 42-0 in the Varsity Division but lost 19-13 in the Mini Division.

Mini Division

Albion 45 Pembroke 27
The Albion offense included touchdown runs of 47 and 39 yards by Jahmeek Riley, 15 by Sh’Kwe Riley, 47 by Tyler Gibson, 55 by Jacob Hughson, 1 by Shakarion Dridom and a 72 yard scoring pass from Gibson to Luke Cornick. Jahmeek Riley had a total of 96 yards rushing, Sh’Kwe Riley 71, Gibson 64, Hughson 59 and Drisdom 48.

On defense, Adrian Kingdollar and William Trembley both made 7 tackles, Cade Wolcott 5, Sh’Kwe Riley and Amilcar Morals-Aguilar 4 and Andrew Uderitz, Byrce Froman, Jonathan Judd, Javon Jones and Chris Porter 3.

Albion is now 4-3.

Tri-Town 19, Medina Colts 13
Aiden Pitts had two touchdowns and an extra point for the Medina Colts and Xander Payne completed passes to Jarin Rhim totaling 45 yards.

On defense, Rayshawn Bloom and Chris Johnson both made 5 tackles and Pitts 4. Joe Cecchini also had a fumble recovery.

The Colts are now 6-1.

JV Division

Albion 32, Pembroke 6
DeShawn Grace had a 75 yard kickoff return and a 10 yard run for touchdowns, Brilliance Johnson a 6 yard TD run and Rylend Callicutt a 13 yard TD run. Johnson had a total of 83 yards and Deyonci Farley 48.

Defensively, Farley made 8 tackles, Thomas Furmanski 4 and Bryce Kelly, Callicutt and Anthony Freeman 3. Kevin Hillman also had two interceptions, Greg Thompson one and Mehkyron Drisdom a sack.

Albion is now 6-1.

Medina Broncos 36, Tri-Town 0
Brian Fry scored four touchdowns, including one on a pass interception, and Emmanual Taylor recovered a fumble for another score to spark the Broncos. AJ Seefeldt also caught a two-point conversion pass from Zach Blount.

On defense, Graydon Delia had an interception, Mitchell Silversmith a sack and a fumble recovery, Taylor a sack and Rodney Davis 3 tackles.

Medina is now 3-4.

Varsity Division

Pembroke 40, Albion 6
Antonio Vallejo had a 1 yard touchdown run for Albion’s only score. Marc Green had a total of 49 yards, Nate Moore 37 and Vallejo 11.

Defensively, Vallejo made 10 tackles, Green, Donamic Farley, Jayah Osby, Moore and Devin Olles 3. Vincent Zona had an interception.

Albion is now 3-4.

Medina Stallions 42, Tri-Town 0
Izaiah Rhim and Trenton Jones hooked up for three touchdown passes to lead the Stallions attack. Rhim completed 10 of 16 passes for 183 yards and Jones had a total of 81 yards receiving. Damion Bloom had 24 yards rushing and two touchdowns and Ronnie Koonce 58 yards and one TD.

On defense, Johnethan Salone, Jones, Bloom and Michael Eckerd each made 6 tackles.

Medina is now 5-2.
