Albion, Medina youth gridders bow in playoff finals

Avenging an early season loss, No. 2 seed Oakfield/Elba upended top seeded Albion 27-19 Saturday in the Niagara Orleans Football Association Mini Division playoff championship game at Vets Park.

Amari Jones had touchdown runs of 4 and 1 yards and Jacob Hughson a 13 yard TD carry for Albion which finishes the season at 9-1.

In the JV Division title contest, top seeded undefeated (10-0) Akron downed the Medina Broncos 39-6.

Tyler Chinn scored the lone Broncos touchdown on a pass from quarterback Zach Blount as a long run by Iverson Poole set up the tally.
