Albion, Medina youth grid teams sweep

Albion swept a trio of games from Roy-Hart Saturday in Niagara Orleans Football Association action winning 62-0 in the Mini Division, 19-14 in the JV Div. and 24-12 in the Varsity Div.

Medina likewise swept past Attica at Vets Park as the Colts won 26-12 and the Broncos 41-6. The Stallions won by forfeit as Attica does not have a Varsity Div. team.

Mini Division

Medina Colts 26, Attica 12
Aiden Pitts had 155 yards rushing with 3 touchdowns to spearhead the attack for the Colts which led 26-0 at the half.

Lavonn Guy added 55 yards rushing and 15 receiving, for the Colts whose other rushers included Aidan Paul with 10 yards and a touchdown, Robert Arnold 25 yards, Josh Wilson 10, Gage Moore 8, Sawyer Kingsbury 7, Chris Johnson 7 and Oliver Wilson 6.

On defense, Johnson made 10 tackles, Dominic Larabee 6, Pitts, Ollie Wilson, Josh Wilson and Kingsbury 4, Wyatt Zalazny 3 and Caiden Class 2. Pitts also had a fumble recovery.

Albion 62, Roy-Hart 0
Jacob Hughson had 152 yards rushing including touchdown carries of 60, 39, 10 and 19 yards as well as a 42 yard fumble recovery return for a score to lead the way for Albion. Amari Jones added 104 yards rushing including touchdowns of 45 and 35 yards and Javon Jones 164 yards receiving including scores of 52 and 60 yards.

Defensively, Javon Jones maded 16 tackles, Amari Jones 7 and Bryden McMurray 5.

JV Division

Medina Broncos 41, Attica 6
Brian Fry had 216 yards rushing including touchdown carries of 21 and 50 yards for the Broncos. Iverson Poole added a 31 yard TD run and Zach Oliver a 1 yard scoring carry as Tyler Chinn returned a kickoff 60 yards for a TD and quarterback Zach Blount completed a 21 yard TD pass to Brayden Velia.

Interceptions by Fry and Emmanual Taylor highlighted the Broncos defensive effort.

Albion 19, Roy-Hart 14
A fourth quarter 13 yard touchdown run by Anthony Freeman provided the margin of victory for Albion. Freeman also had a 35 yard TD and a total of 142 yards rushing on the day. Elijah Lloyd added 86 yards rushing including a 50 yard TD run, Chris Porter 18 yards rushing and Alex Gibson an extra point.

Defensively, Lloyd made 7 tackles, Kobe Pugsley 5 and Freeman 4.

Varsity Division

Albion 24, Roy-Hart 12
Ugene Harrison rushed for 102 yards and scored three touchdowns on a 56 yard run, a 14 yard interception return and an 85 yard kickoff return to set the pace for Albion. Brillance Johnson added a 22 yard TD run and Isaiah Callicutt 32 yards rushing.

On defense, Colton Howell made 11 tackles, Harrison 8 and Nate Moore and Callicutt 7 each.
