Albion, Medina take to the road this weekend

Looking to improve to 2-0, Albion and Medina will both take to the road this weekend for divisional football games.

Albion will travel to Maryvale for a B North Division game at 7 p.m. Friday while Medina will visit Newfane for a C North contest at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Albion opened the season with a 54-2 B North win over Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville which was making its 11 man debut after competing in 8 man this past spring.

Maryvale dropped a narrow 22-21 decision to cross-town rival Cleveland Hill in an interdivisional contest.

The Purple Eagles hold a 12-1 lead in the all-time series with the Flyers.

Medina posted a 54-6 non league win over Bishop Timon while Newfane lost a narrow 19-13 overtime decision to Depew in an interdivisional contest.

The Mustangs lead the all-time series with the Panthers by a 43-10-2 margin.

Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville will visit Lew-Port at 7 p.m. Friday in another B North contest. Lew-Port opened with a narrow 13-7 interdivisional loss to Wilson.

Wilson will visit Cleveland Hill at 2 p.m. Saturday for a C North game.

In the Section V 8 Man Division, Holley will host new foe Canisteo-Greenwood at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Both teams are looking to rebound from season opening losses – Holley 52-6 to Frewsburg and Canisteo-Greenwood 48-14 to defending champion Red Jacket.
