Albion, Medina spikers post wins

Front-running Albion defeated visiting Akron 25-16, 25-14, 23-25, 25-11 this evening to stay unbeaten at 7-0 in Niagara-Orleans League volleyball action.

Medina snapped a four match losing streak by defeating visiting CSAT 25-21, 25-14, 25-8.

In the other match, Wilson avenged a season opening four set loss by outlasting host Roy-Hart in a five set marathon 26-24, 16-25, 25-23, 15-25, 27-25.

Kelsee Soule had 10 spiking kills, 11 service aces and 7 digs and Meghan Hurley 7 kills, 5 digs and 13 assists to lead the way for Albion.

Jenna Carpenter had 3 kills and 3 aces, Nicole Blount 2 kills and Brittany Button 2 aces and 6 points in the third set to set the pace for Medina which improves to 3-4.

Megan DiLaura served up nine straight points in the decisive fifth set to help Wilson outlast Roy-Hart leaving both teams at 5-2.

Ally Bubar added 14 kills, Dana Smith 7 kills and Emily Lasher 25 assists for Wilson.
