Albion, Medina Mini Div. grid squads post wins

The Medina Colts defeated host Pembroke 26-6 and the Albion Mini Division Eagles bested Newfane 27-0 Saturday to highlight local Niagara Orleans Football Association action.

Iverson Poole scored two touchdowns and Hayden Woodroe and Jarin Rhim both had one TD to lead the Colts to their fifth win in as many starts. Poole and Rhim also had extra points.

Chris Porter had touchdown runs of 35 and 32 yards for Albion which also got scoring runs of 38 yards by Jahmeek Riley and 11 by Amari Jones. Porter had a total of 70 yards offense and Tyler Gibson 23.

On defense, Riley made 8 tackles, Amari and Javon Jones 7, Luke Cornick, Bryden McMurray and Jabari Johnson 4.

In the JV Division, the Medina Broncos lost 26-6 to Pembroke and the Albion JV Eagles dropped a 19-12 decision to Newfane.

Deyonci Farley had 53 yards offense with a touchdown for Albion as Brillance Johnson added 52 yards, DeShawn Grace 22 and Thomas Furmaski a 2 yard TD run.

Defensively, Bryce Kelly made 5 tackles, Farley and Rylend Callicutt 4 and Kevin Hillman 3. Farley also had a sack.

In the Varsity Division, the Medina Stallions were blanked 21-0 by Pembroke and the Albion Varsity Eagles were nipped 19-18 by Newfane.

Marc Green had a 60 yard kickoff return for a touchdown for Albion which also got TD runs of 63 and 35 yards by Antonio Vallejo who ha a total of 141 yards offense.

Vallejo also led the defense with 9 tackles as Jayah Osby had 8, Devin Olles and Colton Tuttle 6 and Green 3. Tuttle and Vincent Zona each had a fumble recovery.
