Albion, Lyndonville girls post shut out wins

Albion and Lyndonville both posted rain soaked home field victories today in non league girls soccer action by the identical score of 6-0.

Albion raced out to a commanding 5-0 half-time advantage in route to a win over York while Lyndonville got goal production from six different players in a victory over CSAT.

Two goals by Kayla Doyle put Albion in charge early. Mariah Elsenheimer, Mikayla Yaskulski and Abby Squicciarini followed up with goals to boost the Purple Eagles advantage to 5-0.

Elsenheimer also netted Albion’s lone second half goal as the Purple Eagles improve to 6-1.

Doyle, Elsenheimer and Kendall Piccirilli each also had an assist.

Gabby Dusett, Maddy Boyle, Rebekah Hoffee, Autumn Nesbitt, Rachel Kiefer and Madison Gardepe took turns scoring the goals for Lyndonville which improves to 3-4.

Gardepe also had two assists as Dusett, Alyssa Mahnke, Jordyn Smith and Chelsea Poler each had one.

The rainy weather caused the postponement of the Kendall at Wheatland-Chili girls game as well as the Starpoint at Holley and Kendall at Wheatland-Chili boys contests.

Boys Soccer

Akron 4, Medina/Lyndonville 1

AKRON – Breaking away from a 1-1 deadlock, Akron scored three unanswered goals in the second half to defeat Mediina/Lyndonville 4-1 this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game.

Goals by Randy Mayer and Chris Mayrose highlighted the big second half uprising for Akron which improves to 5-0 in N-O action.

Medina/Lyndonville jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as Aaron Feltz scored off an assist from James Ianni.

The loss drops the Mustangs to 4-2.

Roy-Hart 2, Wilson 1

GASPORT – Alex Stoddard scored both goals, off assists from Jesus Campos and David Brooks, to lead Roy-Hart (3-2) to a 2-1 victory over Wilson (0-5).

Newfane 7, CSAT 1

BUFFALO – Three goals each by Clayton Cleveley and Mike Lekanka keyed Newfane (4-1) to a 7-1 win over CSAT (2-4).

Brockport 7, Albion 0

BROCKPORT – Scoring a lightning quick goal in the first 20 seconds, Brockport went on to build up a 4-0 half-time advantage in route to posting a 7-0 victory over Albion this afternoon in a non league contest.
