Contributed Photo – Albion junior Cencere Lowe will cap off a record breaking season when he competes in the Long Jump at the state track and field championships on Friday at Cicero-North Syracuse High School. Lowe qualified recently when he won the Section VI Class B championship meet with a Long Jump leap of 23-2 1/4 which broke both the Albion school and Niagara-Orleans League records. He is shown here at the Class B meet with Long Jump official Carlos Burroughs who interestingly is a retired Albion teacher and coach. Lowe’s effort broke the old Albion mark of 22-10 3/4 set by Tyrone Newsome in 2005 and the N-O record of 23-0 1/2 which was set by Medina’s Marcell King in 1995. Lowe also won the Long Jump at the annual N-O All-League meet during which he was also a member of Albion’s winning 400 Relay team.
