Albion hosts Medina in youth football

Medina took two out of three from host Albion in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) action Saturday.

Medina won the Beginners Division game 26-19 and the JV Division 6-2 while Albion took the Mini contest 33-16.

Medina also downed Holley 26-6 in the Varsity game as Albion does not have a team in that division this season.

Beginners Division

Medina 26, Albion 19

Damareon Shine scored touchdowns on runs of 60, 30 and 5 yards for Medina. Luke Hungerford tallied on a 60 yard run and also had a big 40 yard gain to set up Shine’s 5 yard TD. Shine and Zach Allen added extra points.

Camden Holt led the Albion offense with 125 yard rushing including TD carries of 9, 32 and 40 yards. Lincoln Voorhes added 48 yards and Jayce Torres 10 yards and an extra point. Voorhes also recovered a fumble which was forced by Holt.

Mini Division

Albion 33, Medina 16

Heyden Almonte had a huge day on the ground for Albion with 258 yards and 4 touchdowns. Anthony O’Neal had a 55 yard TD run and an extra point. Matthew Schomske added 18 yards rushing and Rilee Tranello added an extra point.

Liam Skowneski had a 15 yard touchdown run and a pair of two point conversion receptions and Marcel Lamar a 60 yard TD run for Medina.

JV Division

Medina 6, Albion 2

Caliyah St. Louis broke loose for a 95 yard touchdown run for Medina’s lone score.

A safety by Jonah Elsenheimer and Thailer Seibert provided Albion’s only score. Stryker Sanders had 4 tackles as Jack Conn, Drake Schomske and Wyatt Cook 3 each.

Varsity Division

Medina 26, Holley 6

Lex Gray had touchdown runs of 57 and 41 yards, Christian Moss a 62 yard TD run for the game’s first score and Elijah Doxey a 5 yard scoring carry for Medina. Avion Johnson added a two-point conversion catch.
