Albion hosts 3-on-3 basketball tournament on Saturday
ALBION – A 3-on-3 basketball tournament returns on Saturday at Albion. The Albion Boys Basketball Boosters debuted the event last year with about 100 players.
Registration for the tournament is open to boys and girls in grades 5 through 12. Tip-off in the double-elimination tourney begins at 10 a.m. in the high school gym. There will be 10-minute games. Teams can have a maximum of four players on the roster. The cost is $20 per player.
Awards will be given to each boys or girls team in grades 5/6, 7/8, 9/10 and 11/12.
The tournament provides competition and also is a fundraiser for Albion players to be in basketball leagues this spring and summer as well as purchase gear for the teams next season, said Jeff Radder, the tournament organizer.
