Albion, Holley, Kendall netters score wins

Albion defeated Akron 3 1/2-2 in a Niagara-Orleans League tennis match this afternoon.

In Genesee Region League competition Holley swept to a doubleheader victory over Byron-Bergen by the identical score of 3-2and Kendall bested Elba twice by scores of 4-1 and 5-0.

Connor McQuillan defeated Jacob Meyer 7-6, 7-5 at second singles and Victor Benjovsky downed Brandon Meek 6-0, 6-1 at third singles to lead the way for Albion.

The Purple Eagles also got wins from the first doubles team of Owen Foos-Emilie Barleben, 6-4, 6-4 over Cierra Janis-Will Chubb and by the third doubles duo of Kastriot Bella-Juan Santigao, 6-4, 6-3 over Morgan Wdowka-Eliza Papke.

Akron’s Nate Chubb won at first singles, 6-0, 6-1 over Matt Kovaleski.

The Tigers also took the second doubles as Dustin Earle and Alex Warren downed Donato Rosario and Freeman Lattin 6-4, 7-6.

Albion is now 8-3 and Akron 9-3.

Dylan McKay won twice at singles for Holley as did the Hawks doubles teams of Aaron Strethearn-Cheyan Palmer and Dalton Thurley-Steven Morgan.

Collin Lewis and Nathan Warters both won a pair of singles matches for Kendall as did the Eagles doubles teams of Chris Butlin-Cameron Zinsmeister and Jenna LoSapio-Ryan Barrett.
