Boasting a good nucleus of six returning regulars, Albion is prepping for the April 13 Niagara-Orleans League opener at home against Wilson.

Senior Dyer Benjovsky and junior Josh Metzler, who both earned second team N-O All-League honors last spring, and senior Kyler McQuillan, who was an honorable mention selection, head Albion’s veteran contingent which also includes seniors Monica Benjovsky and Michael Stilwell and junior Dan Beam.

The Purple Eagles are also looking for contributions from juniors Cristal Quintana and Dylan Bader along with eighth grader Matt Kovaleski.

“We’re very optimistic with the solid group we have,” said Coach Jay Kovaleski whose Purple Eagles went 8-4 in N-O competition last spring. “Team numbers are large around the league this year so I expect the competition will be very good and most of the matches will be very close.”
