Albion harriers score home course sweep
Barker wins; Medina splits
Albion’s boys and girls cross-country teams both scored a home course sweep this afternoon to improve to 5-2 in Niagara-Orleans League competition.
The Albion boys defeated Roy-Hart 23-31 and Wilson 24-35 as Aaron Chen finished second and Nick Neilans fourth for the Purple Eagles.
Roy-Hart (3-4) defeated Wilson (2-5) 24-32 in the other portion of the meet as Avery Green finished first and Tanner Bulmer third.
The Albion girls downed Roy-Hart 25-34 and Wilson 21-38 as Madyson Coville finished first in 21:18 and Meredith Patterson third.
Roy-Hart (3-4) downed Wilson (3-4) 25-30 in the other portion of the meet as Chelsea Herriven placed second.
The defending champion Barker boys finished a perfect 7-0 dual meet portion of the season by defeating host CSAT 15-50 as Sergio Cruz, Doug Bachman and Casey Webb finished 1-2-3 for the Raiders.
The Barker girls (4-3) also bested CSAT 15-50 as Gabby Baker, Emma Jenks and Jessica Hasley finished 1-2-3.
The Medina boys (2-5) earned a split at Akron defeating the host Tigers 25-30 and losng to Newfane 21-37. Newfane (6-1) downed Akron (3-4) 16-45.
Newfane’s Sam Auernhamer won the race in 18:09 while Austin Heil placed third and Dan Heil fourth for Medina.
Defending champion Akron (7-0) downed Newfane (6-1) in the key girls’ meet as Margo Henley finished first. Medina’s Holly Heil placed fifth.
