Albion hands Akron first N-O softball loss

In a rainy late evening extra inning marathon, Albion knocked front-running Akron from the ranks of the unbeaten by a narrow 20-19 margin in a Niagara-Orleans League softball game Tuesday.

Albion pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning as Cami London singled and came home on a passed ball.

London finished with a total of 4 hits, including a triple, as Leah Pawlak had 3 and Alison Gibson and winning pitcher Alana Irvine 2 each. Kenzi Snook also belted a grand slam home run in the fifth inning.

In the circle, Irvine struck out 9.

Akron is now 6-1 and Albion 3-4 in N-O action.

Elba 31, Holley 10
Lydia Ross and Madison Thompson both had 4 hits for Elba in the 31-10 Genesee Region League win over Holley which got 4 hits from Tia Hoffarth.
