Albion gridders take part in State Coaches Association combine

A total of 17 Albion High football players recently participated in the New York State Coaches Association College Combine at Fairport High School.

The players participated in several events including the 40 yard dash, shuttle drill, 3 cone drill, vertical jump, long jump and bench press.

Those Albion players participating included Trey Hart, Nate Trembley, Gary More, Clayton Stanton, Dylan Moore, Lamar Chambers, Manny Thompson, Desmond Blackmon, Manwell Taylor, Mike Laine, Kory Reynolds, Jared Hollinger, Israel Florentino, Justin Kendrick, Tyler Rotoli, Tyler Nashburn and Dominic DiCureia.

“It was a good way for the kids to do something together as a team and also promote themselves,” said Albion Head Coach Gary Parisi. “I was pleasantly surprised at some of the results and how many kids attended.”

College coaches from all over New York State attendedincluding Brockport, Buffalo State, Hartwick, Utica. Hobart and University of Rochester and will receive information on each student-athlete.

The top 250 players will be invited to an Elite State Combine in Syracuse on June 8th.

In addition, the Purple Eagles regular lifting workouts recently saw Laine bench 345 as a max in the weight room.
