Albion grad helps Nazareth spikers gain Empire 8 tourney final

Albion High graduate Cady Messmer had 5 spiking kills, 1 service ace and 6 digs to help the Nazareth College volleyball team defeat Ithaca 25-22, 25-15, 25-13 Friday in the semifinals of the Empire 8 Conference Tournament.
However, Stevens of New Jersey downed Nazareth 27-25, 26-24, 25-16 in the finals this afternoon. Messmer had 1 kill, 3 aces and 13 digs in the match.
Messmer, a sophomore, has 156 kills, 188 digs and 35 aces on the season for Nazareth, which is now 26-10.
