Albion grad earns honors to cap diamond career at St. John Fisher

Albion High graduate Brad Rush has completed an outstanding four year baseball career at St. John Fisher College by earning top school and league honors.

Rush, a four year starting infielder for the Cardinals, has been named the College’s Sportsman of the Year for the 2014 season. In addition, he has been named to the Empire 8 All-Conference team for the fourth straight year earning first team honors for the second straight year.

Rush hit a conference leading .421 with on base percentage of .515 to help lead St. John Fisher to a second straight ECAC Metro championship as the Cardinals finished with a 31-11 record which tied a school record for victories in a season.

Rush, who became the Cardinals career leader in doubles with 54, 17 of his came this season, finished the season with a red hot 15 game hitting streak including going 16 for 24 (.667) during his final six games.

Rush, who started a total of 135 games in four years for the Cardinals, finished with a career batting average of .326.
